About the Rapps

Rabbi Dani Rapp is associate dean of Judaic studies and a visiting assistant professor of Talmud for the Irving I. Stone Beit Midrash Program. Rabbi Rapp received his BA, cum laude, from Yeshiva College in 1990. In 1995, he received his juris doctor from Columbia University School of Law, where he was twice named a Harlen Fisk Stone scholar for academic excellence and was articles editor of the Columbia Business Law Review.

He spent two and a half years studying at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh in Israel and was ordained at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, receiving Yadin Yadin semichah. Rabbi Rapp is a dayan (judge) at the Beth Din of America. He has lectured on a wide range of topics, with a focus on the interface between halachah and the modern world.

About the Federgruns

Ari Federgrun is an accomplished young Torah scholar devoted to learning and teaching.   After completing his final year of the Wexner Semicha Honors program at Yeshiva University, Ari will continue his studies at RIETS as a member of the distinguished Beren Kollel Elyon, a competitive program that provides post-rabbinic training for an elite group of scholars who will become future spiritual and intellectual role models for the Jewish community. Ari spent three years at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh in Israel where he received his Bachelors in Talmudic Literature, and he earned a BA in psychology from Yeshiva College. He has dedicated his summers to mentoring high school and post high school teenagers as a counselor and teacher at NCSY Camp Sports and the Camp Morasha Kollel.

Meira Federgrun is a Jewish educator who cares deeply about her students and is committed to teaching in a way that is both inspiring and rigorous.  She remains in touch with many former campers from Camp Raninu, where she was a camp and shiur counselor, and Camp Heller, where she was a Teen Supervisor.   With an MS Ed  from the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education, she has taught a diverse array of elementary, middle, and high school girls in schools in the New York area.  She currently serves as the middle school girls' Mechanechet/Guidance Counselor at Manhattan Day School, where she also teaches Judaic subjects to grades 6 - 8.

Ari, Meira, and their two young sons Yechezkel and Shlomo, live in Washington Heights, NY.  The Federgruns are very excited to be spending the summer with the Denver community. We look forward to meeting and learning with you!
